Starting as a hip-hop dj in 1996 John Trumbul a.k.a. Encoder f.k.a. Prophet has had an 11 year run in the scene with no sign of slowing down. At 16 years old a long time friend and Sound Garden resident Jorge Ramous taught him the art of beat matching, took hi to his first . While his music went in different directions, his ability to mix cut and scratch only grew stronger, Never letting go of his roots in hip-hop and bringing them to the electronic stage. Now with 11 years, 6 mix cds, and over 500 gigs from coast to coast, and as far as Mallorca Spain, Encoder has taken a turn musically yet again. Now playing hybrid sets of hard-techno, Jump Style, and Hard Style, the sky is the limit for this young talent. When not sharing the stage with the likes of Dave the drummer, Chris Liberator, Delirium, Delta9, Luna-c, Hawtin, Lenny Dee, and countless others. He is the creator, and leading man behind Digital Entrapment. The crew has over 50 events to their name and is one of NYC's longest running, and well known production crews. Responsible for events like One Love, Perfect Blendz, The infamous Fuck the Prejudice & Reunited series' as well as Back to Basix and many other memorable NYC events, Encoder has played all sides of the electronic music spectrum. He still today continues to be one of the most in demand DJs from the tri-state area.
