The history of the band began in spring 2004 when Daniel got asked -during a show of some other band- by a guitar-player called Marco if he knew someone who's interested in forming a band. Daniel was pretty enthusiastic about this idea because all his other efforts weren't that successful until then.About one month later the two met up for a jam-session for the first time but things didn't really work out.
The creating process took time until late summer when they decided to look out for another guitar-player.And they should find one in person of Manuel Hammann in September 2004. He didn..t have any band-experience indeed but he was enthusiastic too in developing himself musically and playing regularly.So the groundwork was laid and the three gathered for jamming in regular and the songwriting-process went pretty quickly.
During this period the first two songs were created, but modified constantly.The band used the following time to hide in the rehearsal-room to work out some song-ideas.
By the way there has never been any discussion about what musical way the band should tend to because all members were open for nearly every kind of metal-music. So they came to an silent agreement in a mix of Death-, Thrash- and some Black-Metal-influences but never without neglecting melodies.As the first songs were composed the band watched out for some new members and it didn..t really take long until they found the next guy. Since February 2005 (another) Marco was responsible for the deep bass-tunes. He also had little band-experience and was horny for hard music. From that time on the band rehearsed as a quartett.Around that time the decision was made to name the band DESTINATION:HELL. It..s a good striking statement and just a name that reflects the metallic preferences of the band and fits to the band-style. But the name shouldn..t be taken too serious, rather with the wink of an eye.The next problem that had to be solved was the unnecessary empty space in our rehearsal-room and because noone wanted to add himself the singing-job, another man was fetched into the band-boat. His name is Sven and he shouted his lungs out for DESTINATION:HELL since April 2005.The first Live-gig was on 18th June 2005 at Baden in Blut-Open-Air-Festival (presented by Metal Maniacs Markgräflerland) at Grünpalast Lörrach. It has been graduated with
bravery ;-)Unfortunately the band had to enforce a line-up-change in August 2005. Guitar-player Marco is no longer in the band so that the guys went on playing as a quartett.In April 2006 bass-player Marco decided to quit his bass-playing due to musical reasons. He didn't see any future with his instrument unfortunately.In winter 2006 there has been another change in the line-up. The band had to divide from shouter Sven -in agreement from both sides and in friendship- due to his time-consuming job.Since Sven's exit Manuel took over the vocals additionally to his guitar-playing.From April 2007 to October 2007 Daniel “Muchy†Maucher (Death Is Fiction) played the 2nd guitar in DESTINATION : HELL, but decided -due to personal reasons- to leave the band.Finally the search for a new bass-player is over ! The guy’s name is Jens Wolf and he played his first concert with DESTINATION:HELL at SAK Lörrach on 06.11.08.That's the story so far...Current line-up:Manuel “Slayer†Hammann - Guitar and vocals
