About Me

AS OF FEB 09 Wow I really should update this more. I currently live in Japan, in the city of Kitakyushu. The music has continued but only on a cheap travel guitar. But now I am sure that I will remain in Japan for longer I will have some guitars sent. So not long until I can resume recording and maybe even playing live in Kitakyushu. My music listening though is continually broadening and has greatly benefited from the move to Japan. Excited about the future!!Just a dude in his twenties who has no idea what to do with the rest of his life, that pretty sums me up at the moment. I have loved music all my life, my mum started me off listening to 70’s and 80& rock music when I was just younger, I used to get lost in the music of T-Rex, Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Van Halen, Guns &Roses etc. Then when I reached my teens I started to explore music and really ended up loving Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin. I started to ask where the their music came from and this brought me to the blues. At college I met people who played guitar and got the taste for it. I brought my first guitar when I was 17 and have been playing ever since, all the time expanding my musical tastes. I brought my first electric when I was 18 an Epiphone Les Paul, but then went to University where I had to leave my guitar at home. Even now with all the upheaval of post Uni life I have never really managed to give it the attention it deserved. Still University was a great move for me I studied Anthropology in a small town in the middle of Wales called Lampeter. There I got to listen to more musicians’, see more live music and practice my acoustic work. It was there in those hectic first months that I picked up more blues artists and listened to Elmore James and Muddy Waters the “Folk Singer Blues” among others. I moved to Tormarton in South Glos. in 2006, a place which gave me much inspiration and gave me a base where I could practice at full volume. It was there that all my recordings where made, all through a small headset mic directly into my computer and then converted to MP3. All the songs are "off the cuff" that is to say they are all unplanned and are taken from the first few plays. During my time there I upgraded my kit and acquired a Mexican Fender Tele and an Ozark resonator guitar both my main guitars now. Now I have started recording new stuff, again at the moment its all off the cuff blues and folk. Now I am moving to Japan and I'm sure it will have an impact on my musical tastes and development.I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)
