The big thrill of my life this year was the launching of my first picture book, AMADI'S SNOWMAN, illustrated by Dimitrea Tokunbo.

Amadi knows his numbers and cannot wait to become a businessman like the older boys in his Igbo village of Nigeria. If only his mother would stop bugging him about learning to read words. On the day he runs to the market to escape her, Amadi stumbles upon a boy he knows, hiding at a book stall... reading. There, the cover of a book showing a strange white creature with a carrot for a nose catches Amadi's attention. Alas, he cannot read, and no one will answer his questions about the snowman...
