Hedgepeth’s dedication to the Lord. From early on, it was evident Dexter would walk among God’s people as a servant. His childhood was filled with a delightful curiosity about God. As he began to grow and wax strong in his faith as a teenager, Dexter was led to the Lord and received Christ as his Personal Savior – a decision which has shaped his entire future with promise and direction.Determined to serve God as a youth, Dexter is active at Zion Cathedral Church of God in Christ under the tutelage of Bishop Frank Otha White (General Board Member, Jurisdictional Prelate and Senior Pastor) and Dr. Frank Anthone White (Pastor).He is not only the Chairman of the Jr. Deacon Board; he is a leader in the Youth Ministry, working under the leadership of Mother Lerrell Turner. As such, he is a Board Member of the Youth Commission and Coordinator for Zion’s Teen Church. He is also active on the Jurisdictional level as Vice President of the YPWW and, an Adjutant Brother through the Church of God In Christ National Adjutancy. Additionally, he serves as Board Member of The Cedarmore Corporation, which is the Social Service arm of Zion Cathedral.Dexter firmly believes in the principles of holiness. To prepare himself for delivering the message of holiness, Dexter graduated the Mason Kelly Washington Religious Training Institute of the Third Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, Eastern New York, with a dual certification in Evangelism and General Bible, and retains candidacy for a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Education. Dexter is also pursuing an Associate’s Degree from Nassau Community College (NCC) in Business Administration to further enhance his impending ministry. At NCC, Dexter serves as co-founder of the Nassau Community College Gospel Choir.Underscoring his commitment to youth, Dexter carves out time during school breaks to coordinate youth revivals and spiritual development workshops. It is this same passion for youth ministry that has led him across the country to minister at conferences, seminars, and retreats guiding countless souls into a personal walk with Christ.Regardless of what he faces in life, Dexter understands that his current situation is not his final destination. He stands in agreement with Paul’s testimony: “Bretheren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
