I was born in Bloemfontein, South Africa. It's the equivalent to a midwestern town somewhere in Kansas. I grew up in a home where there was a constant presence of all genres of music with a wonderful Mom who liked to play piano at sundown. I recently brought that piano over to the US... it's 120 years old with ivory warn out my my her fingers! Now my son is playing it. My mom is a painter too and introduced me to the world of art. We had a farm outside of town with some cattle, sheep, chickens and giant heaps of salt gathered from salt ponds fed by 94 windmills pumping incredibly salty water from the earth. We used to call it "Salt Lake City." I graduated from college with a Bachelors degree and moved to Johannesburg where I became a news editor with the South African Television Broadcasting Corporation. Used to be a competitive gymnast and got to do some stunts as a Ninja on "American Ninja 2" filming in Johannesburg. It was at this time that I decided to make my lifelong dream come true and came to the US. I sold my little car for enough money to buy a plane ticket and spread my 22 year old wings toward the US. I settled in LA and taught Elementary school for a few years to find my feet, did lots of commissioned paintings and murals (one for Burt Reynolds of all people), produced some films in Hollywood (Evolution), wrote some screenplays, had my wonderful son who is now 8 and moved to Nashville four years ago. Christopher is a very talented little drummer who also composes songs on the piano! (one of the reasons I moved to Music City.) I love Nashville with all my heart and the sense of community and values it holds reminds me so much of the town I grew up in. I am currently writing songs, completing some more paintings for my upcoming art exhibit raising my little guy. I took a detour from music for so many years and my son brought me back. Funny how things come full circle. I can't wait to see some more of this road songwriting and art is taking me on but I have to say..... I truly love the sights and sounds along the way....(THE VIDEO BELOW THE IDOL ONE OF ANN MARIE IS MY ATTEMPT AT SHOOTING A MUSIC VIDEO WITH MY LITTLE VIDEO CAMERA!. MY GOAL WAS NOT TO SHOOT A MASTERPIECE BUT RATHER JUST SOMETHING TO CAPTURE AN ILLUSTRATE ANN MARIE'S RADIANT PERSONALITY AND TALENT. THE SONG IS "MY BLUE SKY" PERFORMED AND WRITTEN BY ANN MARIE BOSKOVICH. I LOVE YOU ANN MARIE!!!!
