Born in Orlando, FL, Marc Lawson grew up running through orange groves, climbing oak trees and swimming at the beach.
He got started in music at the age of 14 after his family relocated to the Atlanta, GA area. On a hot August afternoon, he stumbled upon an old set of drums packed away in the family garage and decided to teach himself how to play. After much perseverance (and some pointers from his father), he learned enough of the basics to play at church on Sunday mornings.
Today, Marc has traded the drum throne for the piano bench and can be found singing and playing all over the metro Atlanta area. In 2008, he began writing his own music and is currently planning the release of his debut CD, “These Empty Streetsâ€.
At times brooding and thoughtful, but always heartfelt and passionate, the songs on “These Empty Streets†showcase a unique pop-rock vocal and songwriting talent. You can hear the influences of Elton John, Jackson Browne and the Counting Crows as they shine through the recording.
“These Empty Streets†is set for a spring 2009 release date.
