I GangStars nascono dopo il ritiro di Willy dal suo precedente progetto (Shadow Force) per motivi interni di atrito nella band, dopo un paio di mesi di innattività subito sente la mancanza di quella scarica di adrenalina che ti porta il salire su un palco, cosi, decide di mettersi alla ricerca di nuovi componenti per un nuovo progetto, che questa volta "deve" rispecchiare la proprio idea e concezione di musica, un rock'n'roll marcio sporco, quasi essenziale nel contesto musicale, che sottolinei il legame ai tanto amati anni 80, e a quella musica Hard Rock americana che sta per esplodere ad invadere il mondo. Non sapendo dove cercare e come muoversi Willy decide di non rischiare su perdite di tempo e vuole chiedere esclusivamente a suoi amici di lunga data, cosi una sera in occasione di un concerto dei Too Fucked For Love (Motley Crue tribute band) dopo aver rincontrato le persone designate Willy propone il progetto che viene accettato e preso immediatamente con entusiasmo da tutti gli altri futuri membri della band, Machinegun Mike (Vocalist), Cristiano (Bass), Sebastiano (Lead Guitar) e Toxi (Drums). Dopo solo una settimana trascorsa la band e gia in attivo e visto l'ammirabile affiatamento nel gruppo inizia a buttare giu i primi pezzi cover, dopo solo 3 prove Willy propone il primo pezzo proprio dei GangStars, che dopo solo un mese dalla formazione della band e gia pronto e confezzionato con il nome di "Can't Hold Me Back" un titolo che gia da solo da tutta l'idea degl'ideali e delle sonorita del gruppo.
Con l'avvento del 2009 i GangStars decidono di dare una svolta alla formazione della band, viene dunque allontanato Toxi, ritenuto, secondo il parere unisono dei restanti componenti, troppo poco coinvolto emotivamente allo spirito della band, sostituito quindi dal ben piu esperto Fabrizio.
GangStars were born after the end of Willy's previous project (Shadow Force) because of misunderstandings amongst the members of the band, after a couple of months of inactivity he feels he's missing the energy of going on stage, so he decides to look for new members for a new project based on his own idea of music...a kind of dirty rotten rock n roll, almost essential, to underline the close connection with beloved 80's and american Hard Rock music that's about to explode all around the world. Without a clear idea about how to do it Willy decides, not to lose his time, to ask his long time friends. One night at a concert of Too Fucked For Love (Motley Crue tribute band) Willy submits his project to the people he had thought about. They all accept with enthusiasm to be part of this new band, Machinegun Mike (Vocalist), Cristiano (Bass), Sebastiano (Lead Guitar) and Toxi (Drums). One week after the band is already at work and the members get on very well, that's why Willy stars writing down some covers and after 3 rehearsals he has the first GangStar's track. Only a month later the band is ready to play its first song called "Can't hold me Back", a title that speaks by itself about the ideals and the sound of this band.
