Véronique Sanson is a French singer-songwriter with an avid following in her native country. In 1972, her breakthrough album (Amoureuse) was reviewed by many critics as revolutionnary, and made of her one of the very first French female singer-songwriter to break into stardom.
She brings a very personal vocal style to the singing of French pop songs, thanks to a very strong vibrato, which often makes her lyrics difficult to understand. She is commonly referred to as one of the most talented French songwriter, with an incredible consistency in terms of quality and success for the past 35 years (her last studio album, "Longue Distance", released in 2004, went directly number one of the French charts). At nearly 60 years of age, Sanson remains one of the best female selling artist with more than 10 million records sold. In 2008, Warner music has released a special 24cds/4dvds collection box entitled "Et voilà " comprising all her albums and a selection of live concerts/tv appearances.
