Shaun Curtis is originally from the Norwegian west coast capital
of herring and heroin that is Haugesund, but now operates his
musical vehicle CCTV from Oslo.
Curtis combines elements of psychedelia, pop and indie
into a fluid concoction of post-traumatic bliss. Stealing and loaning
shamelessly, a vast array of influences cling to the lushly textured songs.
It’s melodic, dark, but catchy, light but rather unsettling. It’s otherness
and separation, but also the longing for the deep understanding
that never seems to be found.
It’s the sound of the Magical Animals that are Jesper Höst on bass,
Thomas Aslaksen on drums, Shaun Curtis on vocals and guitars
and Kurt Mould on guitars, programming and vocals.
CCTV made their live debut at the Øya-festival's club program in 2008.
It's also worth mentioning that CCTV supported Hidden Cameras (CAN)
at Revolver in Oslo.
CCTV are currently working on material for their first album. The songs "We Belong" and "The Alarm" were recorded in february at Taakeheimen Studios in Oslo with Marcus Forsgren from Lionheart Brothers as engineer and co-producer.
