Hello,
My name is Ben Dicke (pronounced dick-ee but for some reason there is no "y" at the end. Years of middle school jests have allowed me to overcome whatever mispronunciations you might have-- it's okay, I've heard them all).
I'm a professional drummer and educator in the Boston area and it is with great enthusiasm that I welcome you to this microcosm of the internet that is in dedication to my career thus far. My musical background is not unlike that of many musicians of today-- I am originally from Trenton, NJ. At age eleven, I taught myself some drumming and played in many bands throughout grade school. At sixteen, I began studying jazz under Joe Falcey (a great player and a personal hero of mine) and later completed a performance degree at Berklee College of Music in 2007. While in college, I had the fortunate opportunity to study with the gifted teachers of Jon Hazilla, Terri Lyne Carrington, and Ian Froman whose devotion to their craft has allowed me to become the competent player and private instructor that I am today.
My current forte is of the jazz realm but my experiences as a player has given me the ability to play all musical styles. The music that is featured on this page are excerpts from my senior recital at Berklee last year. New original music is on the way.
Also, I am available for any playing situation that one might have at hand and I contain the networking resources to establish any musical solution requested. I am also available for at-home instruction, distance being no concern.
I currently teach at the Performance Music Center in Woburn, MA. and I love my job. Teaching is a passion of mine. Our drum lessons together can be personalized for you musically and also in regards to scheduling during the week. Their website is www.performancemusiccenter.com.
I hope to hear from you soon and thank you for visiting my page! real editor best profile tools real editor best profile tools
