About Me

Future Mic, a St. Louis Native, is an R&B singer/songwriter, beat-maker, vocal coach, and engineer. Future Mic (formally known as Cap'n Hook) joined Ganga Records in 2000 where he partners with Hip-Hop artist, City Boy. Future Mic has participated in events and performances such as: The Playa's Ball hosted by Ali of the Saint Lunatics; Casual Fridays hosted by DJ Bishop V-Luv; Holiday Select hosted by Top Ten Tuesdays and Klassy Women Productions, LLC; City Faces Charity Block Party; Listening Party featuring Ganga Records and Az One; Party Like a Rock Star hosted by Blackmon's Plaza; Midwest Monster Music Conference hosted by Ruka Puff; and exclusive show cases at the Loft, Club 314, Hi Point, and Club Society. Future Mic has received honors such as: winning several "Gong Shows" at Club Society; winning 100.3 The Beat's "You Got Something to Say" contest for his single, "The Baby Momma Song"; receipt of the Melvin Van Peebles award for the song "Katrina" by the Apolstez on which Future Mic is featured; and receipt of the San Fransisco Film Festival award for the song, "Katrina". Future Mic has been featured in various forms of media including: Saint Louis Newspaper, The Evening Whirl; Block DVD, Volumes II & III; and radio show STL Home Jamz. Future Mic and partner, City Boy, completed the mixing, mastering, and production of Ganga Records' Mixtape entitled 2 Kangs, 2 Albums, 1 Mixtape=5 Mics. Future Mic has worked with various artists including: Potzee; Youvee; Solo; Heat; Joka; The Apostlez; Leroy Jenkinz; Ko-Ko C'vere; Ruka Puff; Az One; Family Affair; Rappin' 4 Tay; Phat Man; Toyy; Young Ghost; Moody; Averb; and Spaide Ripper.
