Fresh to the music scene with an innovative fun style is singer/songwriter PEIA. Fusing numerous genres of music including but not limited to R&B, Rock, Techno/Dance and Reggae, PEIA has created a unique sound that cannot be found anywhere else. Born Peiamusa Loveflower Alexander in Chicago, Illinois, PEIA relocated at age eleven to Brooklyn, New York, the place where she would launch her musical career. PEIA’s musical influences vary as widely as her talent; she is accomplished at the violin, guitar and piano. As a pre-teen she found inspiration listening to Whitney Houston and Sade and more recently, her other influences include Beyonce, Prince, and Diana Ross as well as her own mother, whom she proclaims to be an “amazing vocalist.” Deciding to pursue her musical dreams did not come easily for PEIA. “I was very shy and no one knew I could sing,” she admits. In the summer of 2006, a mutual friend introduced PEIA to up-and-coming producer Jordan Battiste (Frontline Music Group) and budding songwriter, Shatic Mitchell. In January of 2007, PEIA contacted both of them and so began the collaboration for her demo. PEIA’s highly anticipated forthcoming debut album is entitled, “PM,” clearly geared towards the nightclub scene. Her aptly titled single “Breakout” is set to release late May. PEIA’s album promises a little something for everyone as she delivers songs designed to move the body, soul, and spirit.
