Heyyy, I'm Kim and welcome to my myspace! I'm proud to say, that I am the new President of JDRF Youth. It is a new division of JDRF, which stands for Juvenille Diabetes Research Foundation. This division is being run by the kids for the kids. SMAACK by the way stands for Samantha, Michelle, Amanda, Alexandra, Carolyn, and Kim. We are the leaders of JDRF Youth. Diabetes runs in my family, and it is a very serious disease. My goal, as President of JDRF Youth is to raise enough money to finally find a cure. All members range from the age of 10 - 24. So if you fit into the following category, FEEL FREE to message me, or comment me to find out how you can get involved and help find a cure! Tell me one good reason why you wouldn't want to be apart of curing over 346 million diabetics worldwide? Thats right, there is none. Okay welll, I'm also a really nice person I can promise you that one so lets become friends I love meeting new people!
Like I mentioned earlier, I am President of JDRF Youth.. and my sister Michelle is Vice President. Our grandma has had diabetes for many years now, and after finding out Nick Jonas has diabetes too, we knew there had to be something we could do.. to get the younger generation involved. There is so much new technology out there, that older people have no idea about! This is where us kids come in, if we all worked together.. we really could raise the money necessary to find a cure. My sister and I have been with the foundation for quite some time now; and we have met SO many amazing families, all dealing with a child with diabetes, some even with diabetes themselves as well. These are some of the strongest people I have ever met in my entire life. JDRF Youth is a non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure. Nick Jonas from the Jonas Brothers who has diabetes, is who we are working on getting for our new National Spokesperson. There will be many exciting charity events coming up this summer, including the Robin Thicke, Elliot Yamin Brett Michaels, This is Energy, and many more acts to be named soon!
We will also be teaming up with the Santry sisters! They are hands down, amazing girls; not to mention, good friends of mine, and my sister Michelle. Katie and Karleigh incase you guys do not know, are the owners of www.JonasBrothersFan.com. So you should definitely go check their site out!! Coming very soon, they will have a link on their HUGE fansite that you can donate money for more research, to help cure Nick Jonas himself, along with hundreds of thousands of people all over the world. They will be giving away signed posters, concert tickets, and tons of great Jonas Brother prizes to the highest donator of the month, EACH MONTH! This is an amazing oppurtunity for both fans to donate and get cool prizes!
All of the official volunteer applications are currently being made, and our official JDRF Youth myspace and website is being worked on as you read this too. Everything should be up and ready within the first couple of weeks of June! So I am excited to get the ball rolling, and start raising money to cure people all over the world affected by this deadly disease. This is the perfect chance for you to be involved in something that could go down in history.
