Cute MySpace LayoutsI am a singer/songwriter from San Antonio, TX. My music is a mixture of everything I grew up listening to, like Tejano, country, Motown greats, and the standards from Mexico. I found a connection with country music as a child while watching a George Jones Concert. His passionate performance of "He Stopped Loving Her Today", captured my heart. I was hooked on music and watched the video daily for years. I began writing music at the age of 16 and finally took my music to Nashville at the age of 19. I landed a recording contract with Arista Records and soon after was signed as a composer by EMI Music Nashville. I have been blessed to have written many songs for my own projects and along the way, have written many songs for my music heroes. My first recording was by Rick Trevino with "I Wish He Wouldn't Treat Her That Way". Soon after, Emilio Navairra recorded "Life Is Good", which later that year became the jingle for the Miller Lite Campaign. The following year, Sara Evans recorded "I Thought I'd See Your Face Again." Mark Chestnutt recorded two songs on two separate albums with "Angelina" and "I'm Gone". This was a great honor as I had sang many of his songs through the years in Honky Tonks around Texas. One of the greatest surprises was when a duo, Gian e Giovani, from Brazil, recorded one of my Tejano recordings, "Yo Busco Una Estrella" and took it to the top of the charts for multiple weeks. Watching it become such a success and seeing thousands of fans sing along has been a great event in my life. One of my greatest honors was when I was asked to compose a song for the Aids Foundation. I called a few friends in Bruce Bouton and Tommy Polk to assist and we wrote a beautiful song titled "Let's Not Look Away". It was recorded by the Tejano greats Emilio, Ram Herrera, Jay Perez, Bobby Pulido, and myself and accompanied by the sounds of David Lee Garza. It was released on the record "Canta La Vida" to supoort the Aids Awareness Campaign. What a great cause and honor to be a part of. As a performer I was blessed to record multiple records with the heroes of my youth. I recorded a Christmas record with Flaco Jimenez, Freddy Fender, Joel Nava, and La Diferenzia with Tejano Country Christmas. I later recorded a record with Michael Martin Murphy live at the Majestic Theatre in my home town of San Antonio. Performing with Freddy Fender and Flaco Jimenez on Austin City Limits was one of the most cherished moments. To be on stage with such legends still moves me to this day. I have been so blessed through the years to be able to travel the world and take my music to 28 countries. It has been a long journey from Asia to Europe, Central and South America. It is no surprise that as I look to record my new record that I would go back to my roots in the heart of Texas. It has been years since I've written and recorded a record of my own. I have found a place in my music that blends the true essence of my heart and soul combining my country, R&B, and Tejano roots. Somehow Stevie Wonder, Emilio, George Strait, and Luis Miguel have found their way into the heart and soul of my writing. I look forward to the challenge of bringing it all to life on my next album. There are songs of joy, laughter, hope and perseverance, moments of heartache, failure and victory. I am filled with emotion and passion as I look to share my life with you in song. Thank you for being a part of my dream. Here's to a great 2009. May God Bless You All!YO BUSCO UNA ESTRELLA, SANG BY GIAN E GIOVANI, WENT NUMBER ONE FOR SEVEN WEEKS, IN BRAZIL!!!
