About Me

In 1999 Yoshi Tsuko (the name was invented by Sanne Geerts, a former classmate) was a fanatic skateboarder and devoted to punk and hiphop music. In a minimum of time he set his mind on techno music.
He discovered his new love in 2001, and not a year later he got behind the turntable himself. In 2002, he would normally go to the biggest European indoor techno party, I Love Techno, but the trip was cancelled in the end, and with the money he had saved for it, he bought his first records.
At home Yoshi Tsuko started practicing, entertaining his family and friends. His goal was to entertain people and attend a lot of parties to enjoy himself.
At JH nUTS, the local youth club of Gooreind, he could practice with two turntables in front of a crowd. This was also the place where he gave his first real performance on 18 March 2003. By then he was only 16 years old.
He made his name at the small parties of JH nUTS, after which he was asked more and more to show his skills at various parties and at various places.
After winning the FIK DJ-Contest at 't Schoolhuis (Gooreind) in 2006, he received the award of 'Best DJ of Wuustwezel', and is consequently well known in his region, also because it was broadcasted on Exit (ATV).
But even after this grant, he's still very much the same modest DJ, like he was at the beginning of his career and like he will always be. When he plays the decks, his style is unlimited, varying from electro/minimal to funky tribal techno.
Yoshi Tsuko is trying to develop his own tracks. In the near future he will probably release two tracks.
He also made other people eager to attend themselves actively with music. The first record of DafteQ (a drum'n'bass-DJ, who also won the award of 'Upcoming Talent of Wuustwezel') was bought by Yoshi Tsuko and he taught him how to spin the decks.
Yoshi Tsuko has already played with some Belgian talents like Kr!z, Cyrix, Dimitri Andreas, Paul Chambers, Rezza, ... and with other famous DJ's as Fredo & Thang, Smos & Baby Bee, Zohra, Kozz, Monica Electronica (NL), Alden Tyrell (NL), Spacid, Redhead, Trish Van Eynde, Jan Van Biesen, Stanny Franssen, Manu Kenton, Justin Berkovi (UK), Gregor Tresher (DE), ...
He also did in 2007 a versus with Belgian DJ, producer and label owner Redhead.
