About Me

BOOKING INFO: [email protected].
AL began learning guitar at age 12 at the Los Angeles Music & Art Center. Soon he fell in love with american roots music and began playing his guitar to Rockabilly, Rock & Roll and Blues classics. As a teenager he picked up playing the upright bass, and was a founding member of East LA's Los Rhythm Rockets. In 2001 he toured with Pep Torres and played sax for lil' Luis y Los Wildteens, As well as playing bass for many respected acts . Eager to start his own project he started Howlin Al and the Sharps where he Sang and played tenor sax.
In 2003 HOWLIN AL AND THE SHARPS set out on a venture to play some wild honkin Rhythm & Blues. They built a decent following and spots playing at some great venues and events. The life of the band was short but well lived. 2005 marked the end of the road as they slowly dismembered. Their last show was at the 2005 Rocking 50's Fest in Green Bay Wisconsin.
Al has also had the honor of playing with Joe Houston, Big Jay McNeely, Young Jesse, Barbara Lynn, Sue Moreno, Big Boy Bloater and most of the LA based Rockabilly/Rokin' musicians.
You can currently find Al fronting his own band and playing guitar for Lil' Gizzelle.
