Fellow Joe- nesses
Lee Scratch Perry, Miles Davis, Black Sabbath, Mos Def, Edit, The Flashbulb, Bob Marley, Murs, The Specials, Foreign Beggars, lot's of Uk homegrown hip-hop, French hip-hop:IAM and Oxmo Puccino are the only ones I know but they'rewell good. Like a bit of funky soul music: the godfather (of course) James Brown (RIP), KC and the Sunshine band all that kinda stuff. Like a bit of old metal: Motorhead, Sabbath, and AC/DC mostly, liking The Gallows for recent stuff. Gentlemans Pistols are also good.
Fight Club, Leon, Spaghetti Westerns (Good, the bad, and the ugly-probably my favourite film), Fear and Loathing- all that kinda ting.
Fear and Loathing (Thompson), 1984 (Orwell), and A Fine Balance (Rohinton Mistry). Also getting into graphic novels- Watchmen, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Batman- The Dark Knight Returns(liked it muchly)
Batman- addresses the darkside of human fears and frailties while considering the contraversy of administering justice by force in order to keep peace + looks at both positive and negative popular feedback on public's reaction to a vigilante. BW/BM takes all this with no super powers just as a philanthropic rich guy and sticks to fighting for what he believes in and not reverting to hard drugs or any other form of diversion from reality, kudos to him. Unfortunately, as you may have heard, he's fictional but still my favourite in the world of comic book superheroes.
