Gurdon is a small rural town in South Central Arkansas. We are mainly a timber industry. Gurdon is the home of the International Order of Hoo-Hoo(lumberman fraternity) and the famous Gurdon Light as seen on Unsolved Mysteries, Sightings, and Foxkids Real Scary Stories.
The annual Forest Festival is held on the last Saturday in October.The Gurdon Forest Festival has been held down town Gurdon Arkansas for 27 years. There are activities all day for people of all ages. There is a main stage downtown Gurdon where local gospel groups and individuals sing all through out the day. If you are interested in performing, fell free to contact me.At 4 PM there is a live auction on the main stage. We have a wide variety of food booths, arts and craft booths, vendors, carnival rides, free petting zoo, kids run, and all types of games for the kids. Annual Forest Festival Beauty Pageant, Hot Dog Eating Contest, Cutest Kid Contest, Annual Chili Cook-Off, Lumberjack Show...and much, much more...The day winds down with a free concert. In 2006, local musicians Ashley and Harry Blanton opened for Nashville Star's Jody Evans. We are proud to say Jody is a local guy who puts on a great concert and he had fans from all over the US visit Gurdon to hear him perform. In 2007, upcoming country star, Ronnie Bear performed along with a great band called Exit 123. Its a day full of fun for the entire family! Come join us this year!
