Dave Hall and Jason Deiter met in the summer of 1992 while the then musical phenom, Christopher Boyum, was putting a project together in south central Minnesota.
Jason was very musically diverse from rock/metal to country, but complimented Dave’s hard edged singing style greatly. Having 2 singers with their strength and texture in their voice was a great asset to the band. The 2 teamed with Chris to form a local project which played only a handful of times in rural Minnesota bars, parties, and talent shows under the name Point Blank (yes, we know there are other bands with the same name, but didn’t know at the time).
After Chris’s untimely and tragic death in a car crash, Dave and Jason parted ways and pursued musical interests independently of each other.Dave moved to the southern Twin Cities, and joined a handful of bands as lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist and/or bassist, and played all over the upper midwest’s 5 state area in bands- including Screamin’ Maggie, Synergy, and The Drunken Stuntmen before once again collaborating with Jason in the project, Silent Giant.
Since then, Dave has been promoting and producing many local and national concerts in the Twin Cities, and is just now deciding to get back to his love of performing.
After Point Blank, Jason stayed in the western area of the Twin Cities and was a staple in the area musically as both an acoustic solo act playing bars, coffee houses, and even weddings & funerals while also singing and playing guitar in bands such as Crossroads, Silent Giant, Radioface, and currently Rize.Dave and Jason are again going to be playing and singing together once in a while at a show near you, so keep a lookout~
