You may have heard Rose Ranger's songs in the television shows, The Young & The Restless, Joan Of Arcadia, Party Of Five, Dawson's Creek, Strong Medicine, MTV, including the feature films 'Bonneville' (Jessica Lang, Kathy Bates) which debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival, and 'Love On The Side' (Jennifer Tilly). You may have heard Rose's voice in her version of the EUROGLIDERS song "Heaven Must Be There" featured in a TV ad campaign for Discovery Coast Tourism throughout Australia, replacing the original 80's hit version.
Born and raised on the North Shore of Vancouver, British Columbia, Rose initially studied dance and acting in Vancouver and Los Angeles, before eventually finding her true calling in music. By nineteen Rose bought her first acoustic guitar and moved to Hawaii "to find herself," and it did not take long. In Hawaii Rose taught herself to play guitar, and began writing and performing her own songs. A couple of years later Rose was discovered by west coast music producer, Craig Zurba (Bryan Adams, Tom Jones, David Foster, Aaron Pritchett, Lisa Brokop, Amanda Stott, Rita McNeil) who believed that the world needed to hear this young artist's voice and offered to record Rose's debut record. The two musicians collaborated for a year and created the album entitled 'Replies'. The following year showed the artist winning Canadian Musician Magazines songwriting contest for her song "Fly" and garnering radio play throughout North America for "Fly", "Call You Mine", "Watching Me", and "Heaven Must Be There". Rose also lent her voice to the Women & Songs 6 Warner music single "Streets Where You Live" and soon after, her record was picked up for distribution by Pacific Music-Warner Canada.
Since then, Rose has performed her music throughout Canada, America, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, and Africa. She has played such legendary haunts as The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville and The Bitterend in New York City, including a number of international music festivals- Popkomm in Berlin, South By Southwest in Austin, Rockrgrl in Seattle, Toronto's Canadian Music Week, Vancouver's New Music West, Pacific Contact, and Merritt Mountain Music Festival. Stay tuned for brand new music from this flower in bloom, when Rose's Christmas album, "Winter Town" is released in November and two of the Christmas songs are featured in 'Christmas Angel'- an ABC TV movie of the week.
