Divine Is Nothing

About Me

Divine Is Nothing is the musical project of singer and guitarist Loraine Mohar. She is a super snazzy musician because the guitar based songs she creates are something truly new and unique. Between her weird in a good way voice and her keen perception for harmony, she creates music that is in tune with not only herself but with the world around her.Harbouring an intense love for music since birth, she has let the link between ear and heart become the thread that has now woven itself through her entire life. Not a moment passes where she is not somehow involved with music, except when she's on the computer for most of the day. As an obsessively creative person, she has discarded the traditional way that todays youth enter adulthood and has spent most of her time creating music and practicing guitar. She has a rare sense of dedication to her art and it shows in the way her music “in theory” elevates and captivates listeners. After many years of playing with musicians and writing songs she decided it was time to really get out in the world with her creations so she enrolled in The Audio Recording Academy, where she has been encouraged to pursue a career in music by Damon De Szegheo (Serena Ryder, Three Days Grace) and Darryl Neudorf (Sarah McLachlan, Neko Case) She happily accepts their encouragement by putting even more energy in to her creative composing, and by evolving to let her ego determine as little of her art as possible. Specifically, her songs both unintentionally and intentionally convey a united sense of what it means to be human and how it feels to witness the world with that limitation. Comparative to how the beauty of nature does not give you her purpose or meaning without your patience and attention, one must truly experience Loraine's music to realize what it is that she offers.
