My Name is Jacqueline Cousins, and I was born and raised in Chicago IL. I was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I have attended various schools to overcome this disorder. While growing up I learn to express myself with art. I realize that art world is where I wanted my career to be. At age 6, I started off by drawing stick figure then I went on making Cartoon strips on a big old scrap of paper. At Age 9, I started making books out of printing paper. At age 14, I went to a summer program at the Art Institute Chicago, and learn to create a self portrait using Chalk, pastels, and paint. I learn to make sculptures out of Paper and flour, and so on. I also got involved in a musical play. During High School, I learn that art is more than just pretty picture. Art is the work of your Imagination. From my freshman to my junior years of High School, I attended class at the UIC School of Art on Saturday morning called The Spiral Workshop. Suddenly, I had my first job in an afterschool non-profit organization called Gallery 37. I‘ve did some Figures (people), Masks, Boxes, and glass plates. I even made this big old collage full of memories of my life. The portrait was 6 ft tall. I graduated High school June 2003. While attending The Illinois Institute of Art Chicago, summer of 2004 I started doing freelance art. I was the contest winner of an Animation club. I had to design a Character. Since then I’ve learned about animation, Character Design, Acting for Animation, and storyboarding (cartoon strips). I also learn to Edit Videos. I Graduate from The Illinois Institute of Art Chicago with a Bachelor’s degree in Art.
