I enjoy spending valuable bonding time with my son, going to the movies with friends, taking mini road trips, dining out, trying new cuisine, reading, playing with my dogs, and veggin' out on the sofa when I have a day off.
I am completely and totally in love with my best friend, and now, boyfriend. We make a great pair and love the same things. Don't know why we never dated before?!?!
I am a Theta Phi Alpha alumna, so I loooove penguins.
I am taking spanish classes to keep up with learning the language. After all, I don't want my minor to go to waste.
I'd like to meet:
Who'd I like to meet???.... Anyone! I'd enjoy re-connecting with old friends and meet new freinds.
However, if I could meet someone who contributed to society, it'd have to be Charles Darwin. Meeting the father of evolutionary biology/psychology would be a humbling and fascinating experience to speak with him about his viewpoints and opinions on evolution.
If I had to meet someone famous, like a singer or actor, I'd like to meet Sean Connery. He's such a prominent actor and has a movie presence that's captivating. He seems like he would have great tales to tell.
Music:
I like any kind of music... I'll listen to anything where I can sing along. Oldies, country, soft rock, alternative, opera, musicals, etc, etc. This is one category where I am not picky as long as I'm in the mood to hear it.
Movies:
I love movies... I'll watch any movie that comes to theatres or DVD new release. I especially enjoy drama/suspense. I love to be kept on the edge of my seat not knowing what will happen next. That's how you know it's a darn good movie.
Some movies I could watch over and over... Harry Potter, I Robot, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Man on Fire, Tomb Raider, Resident Evil.
I also enjoy spanish cinema. It's very different from American film, sometimes weird and explicit, but well worth watching.
Television:
I'm sort of a TV watcher; just depends on what's on for the season. Now here's where I get a tad picky. The show has to captivate me and hold my interest for me to be entertained. I'm not a fan of reality shows, like Survivor or the Amazing Race, but American Idol and So you think you can dance are okay. Grease, you're the one that I want is pretty good. Some of my faves and never missed...Sex and the City, Lost, the 4400, Desperate Housewives, Charmed, Law & Order, CSI, Without a Trace, 24, Ugly Betty, and Grey's Anatomy. Sometimes I try to catch Stargate Atlantis and Frasier and Designing Women re-runs.
Books:
I enjoy reading very much so. I read books about psychology, crime, romance, mystery, etc. I recommend Stack and Sway- it's a psychology book about cases where psychologists are hired as a consultant by attorneys to jury select, testify, and sway a jury through eyewitnesses, evidence, and opening/closing arguments.
I'm also reading some certification manuals for work to gain the title "Master Workforce Development Professional." Plus, it'll increase my pay!
Heroes:
My hero can be described more as a mentor, a colleague, and friend. She is someone I look up to and admire. This person was my graduate school teacher, Dr. Lisa Cummings. She was a wonderful person inside and out who treated myself and other classmates as peers/colleagues, not just as students. We discussed various topics often instead of always having to abide by the lecture notes. We exchanged ideas, personal beliefs/opinions without negative attitudes. She made my graduate program one that was enjoyable and always memorable.
