Music style
The debuting duo – Zady en Mahari –found their inspiration in the R&B and hip-hop scene. Especially the source of their lyrics comes from those two particular genres. However, the general line of their music leans more towards a mix between R& B, hip-hop, dance and world music, which is the inevitable result of a confrontation between four musical spirits each with a separate vision. We are striving for an approachable sound with positive vibe which can be appreciated by every kind of music lover. The album will contain a variety of songs in which strong club beats, synths and acoustic instruments will be made use of.
Name of the group
The group name has been chosen in function of the Indian roots of the two lead singers. The Sanskrit word ‘Desi’ literally means 'of the homeland' and is used by people of Indian heritage to define their roots. This way the ‘Desis’ have created a separate culture, one which is a fusion between Western and South-Asian culture. The transformation to the contemporary sounding ‘They-C’ carries the wordplay within it, adding an extra dimension. The group wants to unleash a certain vibe which they feel and see, by means of their dynamic numbers. They see a new sound.
Group Biography
The group They-C, with the lead singers and song writers Zady and Mahari, found each other through their common passion for music. Their voices form a perfect combination of harmonious song texts, raps and strong lyrics. The production and music are taken care of by Ramses and Dieter, who own their own recording studios and have already assisted several productions. Meanwhile, this musical cooperation has lead to unique songs from which full album will originate.
