I've been getting on stages in various states of disrepair since sometime in the late 80's. At the moment I sing and play various instruments, to varying degrees of competence, with The Sick and Indigent Song Club. I also do side gigs as Garyfitz and the Indie Gents. Previous to this I did something similar with The Great Western Squares. In between I played solo or with occasional others around Ireland and the U.S.
That concludes the folk/country end of the biog.
From the late 80's to the mid 90's I was up to my neck in hardcore punk, with the Bloody Jellies, Ciunas and Pincher Martin being the main bands I can remember being in. I still occasionally play acoustic sets of some of those songs but it was a hell of a lot easier doing that stuff years ago. I much prefer sitting down while performing these days. Leave that jumpin' round to the young folk.
That concludes the hardcore/punk end of the biog.
Somewhere through all that time I tried college a couple of times, worked as a dj, promoter, humper, booker, poster sticker upper, childminder, actor, barman, barfly, beer taster, music teacher, advice officer to the unemployed and, most proudly for someone with hay fever.....bailed alfalfa in Dyer, Indiana.
