The New York Yankees are located in Bronx, New York. They are a member of the American League, and play in the Eastern Division. It all started way back when in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1901. They then moved to New York City in 1903. Soon becoming the New York Highlanders, which is what the fans new them by. In 1913, they became known as the Yankees. They have played at Yankee Stadium since 1923. In 2009 a new Yankee Stadium will be opened up right across the street from the current ballpark of our beloved team.
