As a big fan of the director/writer/producer/composer/occasional cameo making jack-of-all-trades, Jay Woelfel, I give you his Myspace fan page. Oh, it’s official. When I last spoke to him, I asked him why he had not started his own Myspace page. With his response of "uh," I immediately jumped ahead offering to start this bad boy up.
He has spent his career working in all phases of production and post production in film, video, and interactive productions. Jay won the Interactive Academy Award for Best Documentary for TITANIC, a project he wrote and directed which was narrated by Patrick Stewart. It is one of five awards Titanic has won since its release in 1994. In 1993 he won an OBIE and TWO EMMY awards for his production of NATHANIEL HAWTHORNE'S THE BIRTHMARK. (THE BIRTHMARK has aired Nationally on PBS since the award) He edited the Academy Award nominated short film BRONX CHEERS. On the strength of his body of work Jay Woelfel was selected by The United States Information Agency as one of the six best film students in the United States to represent it at the 1986 Cannes Film Festival.
In his spare time he has lectured about filmmaking at UCLA, IFP West, Cal State Northridge, and University of Bowling Green. He also served as on the screening selection committee for the Science Fiction and Horror Academy in 1991 and 1992. As a published writer he was recommended for the 2002 Bram Stoker Award for best short horror fiction of the year.
So here it is. I am not Jay Woelfel, but I do hope to one day play him on tv. That said, you can contact him here and ask questions or say what you gotta say, as he’ll be stopping in, all the live long day. You can also drop him a line and find out more info at his official website
