ArcoIris Lounge

Arcoiris Lounge is a project that premiered on October 11th, National Coming Out Dia, 2004 as the ONLY lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, questioning n' queer Youth of Color project in the San Diego/Tijuana border region.Arcoiris = Rainbow, vision is to create safe and artistically affirming spaces for queer youth of all colors and allies to actively implement, administer, and participate in social change from a youth's voice and vision.Arcoiris Lounge is open to all queer identified and questioning youth ages 24 and under. You do not have to identify as a youth of color to participate; however Arcoiris is rooted in people of color affirming politics and history. Our goals are to change the fabric of social injustice particularly among communities of color and the broader community at large while having fun, building community, and making art!As one of our fearless forsistah's states, Audre Lorde:"We tend to think of the erotic as an easy, tantalizing sexual arousal. I speak of the erotic as the deepest life force, a force which moves us toward living in a fundamental way.""The erotic is a resource within each of us that lies in a deeply female and spiritual plane, firmly rooted in the power of our unexpressed or unrecognized feeling..."
