I spent my youth in the New England area.
I was put into the foster care system at the age of 6.
I decided to try and help people by about age 12 and took up nursing.
By the time I was 20 I had a great job in the Boston hospital. I found I could travel around the various states of America and get a job rather easily because of my profession. It also made it easy to leave any bad vibes or situations behind. By the time I hit Texas I was 30. But a strange things started happening. I began to fight with the thoughts in my head and it was becoming more and more annoying. To the point where I would get severe migranes. But enough about me. Also I find that in the nursing profession a lot of co-workers are very catty and competitive. They think they're better than you just because you may have lost a couple of patients. This enrages me. WHAT THE CRITICS ARE SAYING ABOUT "AMERICAN NIGHTMARE" THE MOVIE:Jon Keeyes, the Fort Worth movie buff who made AMERICAN NIGHTMARE , does know his horror history and his horror rules, and, of course, he injects all the little "Scream"-type inside references to past horror movies. Somewhere along the way, though, he manages to create an original maniac psycho knife- through-the-gizzards killer. Debbie Rochon may be, in fact, the first convincing female psycho since the girl in "Sleepaway Camp," who actually, now that I think about it, turned out not to be a girl at all (boating accident--let's not go there).
Joe Bob Briggs.Debbie Rochon (Jane) blew me out of my seat! She really dives into this part and her every moment on screen captivated me. Its not everyday that you see a killer this layered and this real. Congrats girl and congrats Mr. Keeyes for writing a fascinating character! Arrow in the Head.THIS FEATURE IS WORTHWHILE FOR ROCHONS PERFORMANCE ALONE, A TOUR-DE-FORCE WHICH SHOWS THE ACTRESS RANGING FROM SEXPOT TO STEELY-EYED KILLER TO WOUNDED ANIMAL. ANOTHER WORTHY PERFORMANCE COMES FROM BRANDY LITTLE, AS ROCHONS PRIMARY TARGET AND THE SISTER OF ONE OF ROCHONS PREVIOUS VICTIMS.
- MICROCINEMA SCENE.A movie I would gladly see in the theater, rent, or even buy. It was original, and fun.
Shivers of Horror. My list of favorite things from Texas is a pretty short one: Joe Lansdale short stories, Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, and maybe the sunsets over the desert out near El Paso. You can add Jon Keyees' AMERICAN NIGHTMARE to that list. It's 90 minutes of horrific delight finely smartly wrapped in a tight, energetic package.
Rage. Psychosis. Fear. Hatred. Debbie embodies everything dark within the human soul and uses it to scare the hell out of you. Her introduction is as intense and chilling as anything I've ever seen. Like my hero Roger Ebert says, "a thriller is only as good as the bad guy." As Jane Toppin, Debbie Rochon is sexy, unrepentant evil.
