About Me
Smile Vienna 2009
The spirit of reggae possessed him at the earlier age of 7,when he wrote his first song called „One day“. With this song he wanted to draw his peoples attention to the current situation of things in the country...a prophetic sign of what his people will face in the future and about the mission what JAH has set him to do on earth. At the age of fifteen he formed a vocal group together with Michael Ukwuaba aka Mikso Mangobe, the group name was called “(Ghetto-Lords)As he dearly believe in Lives in Ghetto felt the people,s pains and suffering. Both of them were singers and composers of their own songs...they made a great efforts and got well-known in town but due to the situation of things surrounding the city, they were unable to rise up as many people expected. They did 2 demoAlbums which included songs like „Cry of Rastaman, Prodigal son, Amend your way, Live the life you want and Rastas take over“. Together they performed in many local clubs, schools and churches, before Ghettoman (A charismatic singer) left to join „John Player Reggae Band“.Ghettoman & the believers Is a multicultural reggae band with creative members from different countries and continents of the world. The band is lead by Ghettoman, a messenger, freedom fighter and peace propaganda from land of the rising sun called Biafra. He was born to free his people from injustice, tribal and racial discrimination, opperession, suppression, marginalization, misscarriage and denial of justice simply because of tribe or race. His father, an ex Biafran lord, made him to be concerned about all the brutal acts and injustice beeing done to his people in the past. He witnessed it by himself what it means to be a second-class-citizen in one,s own country. November 27th,1997 Ghettoman captured his first solo album called „What is happening“ This led him into prison while asking why his people are been oppressed. The same album lead him into a great recognition and little success. The album was played in many private radio stations/Tvs. It enabled him to take part in many important performing places all over the country...and made him to play with many famous artists like „Francis Goldman, Black Ras, Ras Kimono, Robbie UK, Robie-Iman, Witty Natty Ranjo, Prince Rafido, Shalom C. Adams, Peace Band, Dovio Sound aka Baba 2010 and Shalom Asemota and Band..Ghettoman worked with producers like Jeff Udeoha ceo Jeff Studios, Rogers all stars and many other studios in Awka, onitsha, lagos and Enugu . Three years later he released his second album titled „Man of peace“ in which he criticized the autocratic pretending democracy in Nigeria by calling them „Capital bushmen“. He proceeded with his courageous and liberation message of hope and freedom...he played in many clubs in the capital city, Abuja, before he left eg. Capitol Club, Pichez Club and Perfecta Club... After his arrival in Austria Ghettoman didn’t hestiate to find his roots here...at the beginning it was very difficult because it seemed like no one could understand or recognize what he wanted to say. So he worked and played already with many reggae bands like Trust Reggae Band, Rikitik Reggae Band, Assurance Band of vienna; Jevroks vocal gruop, Genesis Reggae Band...but finally he formed the „moving moment anti racist reggae group“ with people from four corners of the universe ...GHETTOMAN & the believers was born!!!!!!!!
