SALLY SPARROW

About Me

I'm part owner of a shop in London on Queen Street called Sparrow and Nightingale's Antiquarian Books and Rare DVDs along with my partner, Larry -- the brother of my oldest and dearest friend, Kathy Nightingale.Kathy moved -- rather suddenly as it were -- to Kingston-upon-Hull where she settled down to marry and raise children. Kathy passed away more than 20 years ago.I enjoy taking pictures of pretty old things. I love old things. They make me feel sad. Kathy once asked what's so good about sad and I told her that sad is happy for deep people.I hope she understood.One rainy day I ventured out of London to take some pictures of Wester Drumlins, a beautiful and quaint old house with an overgrown, but enchanting garden. Inside the house I found a message addressed to me from someone called the Doctor. But how could this be? The message was written in 1969, a decade and half before I was even born!My opinion of garden statuary is much changed because of my visit to Wester Drumlins. For now, let me just say I really have underestimated the creepiness of weeping angels. {}

Part Three

I gasped in even more amazement. There was another Sally Sparrow and obviously she was taking the photograph. And probably she was a bit deaf, and you had to talk to her with paper signs, because hear...

It was three days before Christmas. I’d just arrived at my fat Aunt’s house, and as usual, I’d hugged her and run straight upstairs to my room, to hang all my clothes in the rattle...
