Some Nice words that people had to say about the album are below!
“The whole record is an exercise in jagged, percussive rage. Michael shouts, Ian screams and Matt batters his kit senseless almost for the entire 43 minutes†- David Roy / The Irish News
“This self-titled slab of wax features razor blade guitars that sound like a hammer to the love spuds and riffs that bring on more thunder than the Mighty Thor himself. File under 'R' for 'Rockin'†- Edwin McFee / Alternative Ulster
“If it’s pretty melodies and booty shaking grooves you’re after, Comply or Die are not the band for you. However, on those wretched days when you feel like smashing your head through a wall, they ably provide an ideal soundtrack to your impending unconsciousness†- David Roy / The Irish News
Comply or Die formed in Spring 2008 and comprise:
Drums – Matt Crothers - ex Coda ;
Guitar & Vox – Michael Smyth - ex Snakecharmers, This Kiss Kills and Los Cabras ;
Bass & Vox – Ian Pearce - ex Los Cabras, Dangerfields, Snakecharmers, This Kiss Kills
To date the band has recorded and released their first album and played with local acts such as Yakuza, The Evangelists, Black Bear Saloon, These Are The Clouds, Before Machines, Gacys Threads, Burn The Canvas and The Continuous Battle of Order. Along with supporting The Black Diamond Heavies and Rise Against.
With the record now on release it has been well recieved by audiences and in the press, receiving great reviews in The Irish News and Alternative Ulster. The Big List have helped to champion the band with interviews and inclusion on the bill of their 1st 'Big Gig'. The record is getting some airtime on Across The Line and also on Queens Radio, who were kind enough to invite the band in for an interview recently.
The band are now looking toward the future which holds a support slot with Joe Lally (fugazi) and writing for the next Comply Or Die album which is due to drop late 2010. Expect weighty sludge and vicious punk rock. As always, the Comply Or Die juggernaught rolls on!
