Discipulos is a Hard Rock Cover-band, and former House-Band for the Latin Rock Club “La Kueva 2.0â€.
The band was formed by selecting musicians out of the bands that were performing at the venue at that time by the owner. He just called us up and said “I need musicians for a house-band would you try a rehearsal?†He offered us money, a steady gig and a place to rehearse... What else could we ask for? we were immediately into it.
Discipulos it’s been up and running for about 10 years, Playing Kueva and many other latin rock nights in many places. It’s known to be a intense and heavy sounding band with a lot of energy in every performance and load it with an arsenal of Spanish and English tunes. Their repertoire covers a wide range of styles. From remakes of Latin and English classics to the newest songs in the American radios these days.
One of the characteristics of the band is that they always have guests singers on the shows. Integrating talents from other bands into their performance.
Within it’s history the band have had the opportunity to share the stage with many of the great latin rock musicians of the city, like: Ze Grey (Bass-Brazooca, Cafe Wha), Joao Sanchez (drummer-El Leon,Chacao), Miguel La Rota (singer-Luz Perpetua), Jorge Patino (drummer-Naranja),Dave Hoffman alias Gringo Loco (Guitar,keys),Andreas Guarin (Bass,Vocals-La Cumbiamba eneye), Ron Thaler (Drummer) between others.
The only original member remaining is guitarist and musical director Inti Maldonado (7 kings, Chacao, Miguel Oldenburg, Joe Rockstar, Evan Farmer, Resurrection). The current line up for the band is:
