Hi! I'm a 25-year-old singer and musician from Helsinki, Finland. I graduated from Helsinki Pop & Jazz Conservatory year 2008. I sing many kinds of music: jazz, pop, contemporary classical.. but what I like the most is interpreting songs in my own personal way. Especially songs with touching lyrics are the kind of music I like. I'm also specialized in a cappella singing. My current a cappella groups are EMO Ensemble, Helsinki Chamber Choir and Sibelius Academy Vocal Group.
I've also worked as a background vocalist for artists like Zarkus Poussa, Marzi Nyman, Ira Kaspi, Saara Aalto and Hanna Marsh. I was granted a Nokia Young Talent scholarship year 2007. I had my debut concert called "Jukka Linkola Tribute" at April Jazz Festival 2008 in Espoo, Finland. It was a one hour long concert which I had organized around the music of the famous Finnish jazz composer Jukka Linkola. I was accompanied by probably one of the best Finnish jazz musicians: Marzi Nyman (keys/guit), Eerik Siikasaari (bass), Rami Eskelinen (drums) and Manuel Dunkel (sax). I was also accompanied by the Helsinki Pop & Jazz Conservatory Big Band. Some songs were performed a cappella by a 8-voice vocal ensemble EMO Ensemble. My most memorable projects around contemporary classical music have been the soprano part in such works as Luciano Berio: Sinfonia year 2006 and Karlheinz Stockhausen: Stimmung year 2008. My newest project is the role of the Cat in a children's opera called Pappa Bach in the Finnish National Opera season 2008-2009.
