Wahid Bayar was born in Kabul Afghanistan on the 28th of march 1982 . Wahid currently resides in Amsterdam, Holland. He was 8 years old when he moved to Moscow, Russia.
It was at this age when he first began his interest in music and dance.
He spend his primary school and half of his high school time in Moscow.
At the same time he was very creatively busy composing his own songs for himself and others.
He also joined a little dancing group there, performing in several schools. To earn a little money he used to work as a DJ in several dance clubs.
In 1999 he moved to the Netherlands where the rest of his family was living. He finished high school there and pursued a degree in fashion designing and international theatre. During this period he got in contact with ISH which is an international theatre group that performs all around the globe containing dance, singing, acting, martial arts and sport. He got accepted and started touring with them around the world performing different shows in different city’s like New York (USA), Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Bombay ( India) etc, whole year long for many years.
He started getting dance lessons from choreographers of famous artists such as Justin Timberlake, Usher, Janet Jackson, Britney Spears. When he finally got his diploma for fashion designing and theatre, he started teaching people in dance (Street dance, popping, Locking , Electric, Wave and Hacking) singing, rapping, acting and performing. He made shows for ISH, working as a director, choreographer, writer and producer. And also starred in different Dutch movies and commercials. Of course he wasn’t doing just that, he was also busy getting his own musical career on its feet.
From an early age he learned to play several instruments like the piano, guitar, keyboard, synthesizer, robab, harmonya, percussion, which he all uses to make music. He was also writing his own songs in Dari and making his own music. What a lot of people don’t know is that Wahid Bayar made the first real afghan rap song. He also featured in different albums from different Dutch artists, singing, rapping and producing tracks in Dutch and Dari. Wahid Bayar also formed a rap and singing group called Scyllas. But he felt like there was something missing in his life. So he started focusing on making music just for the afghan community, to show the world that Afghanistan is just as good as every other country. His first single that came out was called Darya (2001) from his first album Goomshodah, which was containing the first Afghan rap song that was made at the time called Birahmi with his own music and lyrics. Again he made music and lyrics for other people working as a producer.
Aside he has his own music company called Bayar Productions, that makes music, video clips, gives workshops in dance, acting choreography, directing etc. Currently (2008) he is finished with his new album called Chera. The album will be released in 2009!
In 2008, He released his music videos "Bigi Mara" featuring Felipa Fernandez, "Dukhatar-e Zeba" featuring Tamana and "Chera".
2009, is a big year which new music videos by Wahid Bayar are released "Shokhak" and “Safa-e Akhar†Wahid Bayar's Album "Chera" (Why) is to hit stores soon this year and will be coming to perform in the United States for the FIRST TIME!
