About Me

Hi... I’m Keith Shimfessel. I am the worship minister at Reidsville Christian Church in Reidsville, NC. I spent a lot of time back in the 80s and early 90s traveling in Gospel Music with a couple of Southern Gospel groups, the Watchmen and the Gospel Lads. I have served as worship minister at churches in Winchester, Va and Kernersville, NC.I have spent quite a bit of time in recording studios as a musician, producer and engineer. I am currently in the middle of setting up my own little studio here at the house. I am building it around my new iMac with Logic Studio 8. Recording on a computer is a far cry from the 2" tape I started out with back in the 70s and 80s. But it is a lot of fun and I am having a ball with it.

My Interests

Music:

Influences: There have been many influences in my life, my parents and family gave me an appreciation for music from a very early age. A man by the name of Tony Brown, who at the time I met him was traveling as the piano player for the Oak Ridge Boys, was a big influence on me and my piano/keyboard playing. Anyone who knows me would certainly know what a big Kansas (the band) fan that I am. I have always loved the music of Kerry Livgren. He has been an influence as well although I would never be able to play or write to the same level he does. In the worship music field, Don Moen, and Paul Baloche have been (and continue to be) big influences on what I do in worship at my church.
