hello, cruel world

About Me

I want to start spending more time in smoky pool halls.

AIM Screen Name: sumner5436

My Interests

Music. Lots of it. I have played drums and guitar in several groups previously, mostly punk and rock style bands, and I want to start a new band! Anyway, I like all kinds of music, including, but not limited to, punk, rock, punk rock, indie, jazz, blues, classical, techno, fusion, drum and bass, metal, folk, anti-folk, hardcore, softcore, mediocore, trance, space rock, psychedelic, funk, acoustic, new age, traditional, industrial, pop, goth, prog rock, math rock, ska, death ska, experimental, new wave, post-punk, dance, latin, emo, ambient, electronica, disco, reggae, stoner rock, southern rock, punkabilly, arena rock, hair metal, alternative, grunge, and thrash.

My few other interests include bowling, chatting .. with babes, seven eleven, grilled cheese sandwiches, awkward silences, hummin' and bummin', blogging, finding and listening to indie as fuck bands that nobody else knows, reading, e-DJing, not answering my phone, making websites, faking my personality, going to concerts, nerds in every form, laundromats, Halo, Halo 2, Ares, social diseases, spontaneous combustion, entropy, dirty needles, cracking skulls in the pit, subjective criticism, bioterrorism, chronic failure, pajama pants, sleeping, wondering, meditating, getting drunk at weddings, amps that go to 11, folding wine glasses, asian shit, bands I've never heard, skipping class, burning bridges, self-actualizing, typing, misunderstanding, social deviance, card houses, irrelevance, misanthropy, artsy chicks, and AIM bumming.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who wears one of those rubber bracelets, the fairy fucking godmother, Ronald Reagan circa 1984, bad boys with soft sides, scene kids, loners, sportos, sluts, bloods, geeks, wastoids, dweebies, dickheads, Chris Krinkle, anybody who can rationalize at least 75% of his actions, potato sack racing enthusiasts, cyber-punks, anti-heroes, someone who looks straight at the camera in their myspace pics, revolutionaries, counterrevolutionaries, establishmentarians, antiestablishmentarians, lovers, fighters, jazz drummers, classical guitarists, folk singers

Christmas Time in Suburbia

It seems that ideas for blogs only come to me at the most inopportune moments, like in the middle of an exam, or during rush hour traffic.  Unfortunately, I can never seem to remember them at 1AM...

Seasonal Affective Disorder

It's funny how the seasons always seem to change without notice.  In Texas especially, the seasons seem to be hesitant to pass.  Summer is the most stubborn.  It reigns supreme for mont...

I guess this is growing up

It seems like kids today are a lot more "grown-up" than they used to be.  They seem not only to be getting smarter, but their entire perspective on childhood is different.  I never see littl...

Vonnegut

I was going to write a blog about how life is so hard and painful and depressing, possibly with a bulleted list of my broken dreams, but it is far too late to revel in self-pity.  Instead, I will...
