I’m a woman who wears many hats. As an author, I’m somewhat reserved and consumed when I’m writing, but as a teacher in my classroom, my flamboyance keeps my students interested. Being Tsalagi (Cherokee) brings out my environmentalist attitude and keeps me close to Mother Earth, while my British ancestry shows when I cite Her Majesty’s English during afternoon tea. The old-fashioned romantic in me surfaces when I watch a film like "Casablanca" and reach for a box of tissues, and the protester in me speaks out against animal cruelty. My Stetson and cowboy boots are ready when I feel like a proud native Texan, but I make room for my leather jacket and Harley boots when I feel like riding the wind on a motorcycle.
