Life can be cheating at times. Who would ever dare to conjecture the Sund's outcome even at this stage of their meaningless carreer? In the very far years of the past, primary school still, Miltos had just begun sharing new music with Thymios (both of whom had advanced their friendship since the infant school years). These two boppers often chose to spend the lesson intervals in the pundits' office, sitting by some retro, indeed, cassette player and listening to Nirvana, Black Sabbath and other heavy stuff. The truth is, not so many years ago, the two mentioned members had experienced music through different ways. Unforgettable are the times when they participated in an unofficial dancing group (Miltos attended for nine continual years lessons concerning traditional music and its dance) along with two good (female) friends, Vassili Moshoviti and Vassia Sykioti. Yiannis, at the same time, despite being a schoolmate, was moving into a parallel universe with different companies, practising other acts of childhood vagrancies. It is difficult to define his exact relationship with music, in general, at that period of his lifetime. Thymios started having lessons on a traditional instrument (which many of you probably know - it is named "bouzouki"). Among the three of them, one can say that Miltos was the most favoured in musical heritage as he, indirectly, owned a variety of LPs pertaining rock music, property of his parents. It is fun to mention that both Miltos and Thymios continuously, and so vividly, were listening to the "Lemon Popsickle" soundtrack which features great artists such as Little Richard and Paul Anka among the many. One would say, the virus had infected them. The time passed slowly and patiently by discovering heavier sounds coming from The Doors to Slayer. It was then decided that the formation of some band is proper to be done. This guy, another classmate whom name is Yiannis Bouras, had started attending his first lessons in music at the local philarmonic orchestra and he possessed only one tom! Damn sure, a hell of a drum kit! Soon, there were titles for songs which were never composed, of course, and a cover painted by Miltos. The band's name was the dupe "Alief". It was just the Fila's athletic company name reversed with an added epsilon between iota and fi just to suit a bit more the word "alien". Too young, indeed. The album had been given the name "Replay" but none can vindicate now why exactly it was chosen. It's a long time ago, after all. The periods of high school were the ones that bined Yiannis to Thymios and Miltos. Then Yiannis, had shyly entered the fields of electronic music by listening to psychedelic trance and disco, too! Until now, disco music's greatest artist, Michael Jackson, is being adored by the band members. Not to mention the specific date, Yiannis were given a copied cassette from Miltos which included many artists, among whom, Nevermore were, too. As he still claims, this changed his whole life. It might have been some track out of their "Dreaming Neon Black" album. Since then, ever carrying the music virus, they used to rehearse in a so called studio owned by the Koutivas brothers, in Kalamata city. The first ever rehearsing experience was experienced by Thymios, Yiannis and some other guy known by the name of Dimitris Farmakis. Tasos Kordonouris had joined many rehearsals, too, every time he visited his ancestry place. That's a whole goddamn chapter, though. Rooting at that times, many years later, a band called "Ism of Karawan" would come to life. In fact, only Thymios could reciprocate the theory of music as both Yiannis and Miltos had never been musically indoctrinated (and still aren't). After some weird demands (from the owners of the studio) about how to behave in their respective place, the jamming sessions became lesser in time. More years passed, and it seems that the same idea wandered through Yiannis's head and Miltos's brain. At universities now, each one of them living in different places, one would say that the creation of the band was just an idea. The flame burnt on, though. A friend of Miltos, Spyros Papachristodoulou, gifts him a classical guitar which was never used by no member of his family. A storm-tossed instrument, indeed. It was gifted to Spyros by an uncle of him who had found it thrown on the dusty road of some acre. Four initials were carved (for the name of Miltos and respectfully for Spyros) on it and some kind of history had just begun. It took about 3 months for Miltos to compose the five songs which were featured in the band's first album (as it is preferred to be called like), "Sundalia", plus one or two months for the album to be recorded. The imaginative band's name was conceived somewhen at this period by Yiannis, by adding two important, for the band, elements: Sun + Sand. The name chose the band, not the inverse happened. In an interspace of time counting three more months since Sundalia's recording, "Sundaremalia", the second album of the band, was brought to life featuring seven brand new tracks. So, founded between the years 2002 and 2005 from amateurs of home circuits, Sund ever served the art of music more as an idea than some kind of art itself. There never were any line-up changes due to the fact that since Yiannis and Miltos decided to form the band, they both knew that in this there was place only for one more person and it could be no other guy than Thymios. Hailing from a country which possesses one of the most devalued scene in both Rock and Metal genres, the band acknowledge the fact that it could never achieve the great break through among other national artists. The lyrical concepts of the band have aimed at the Greeks' decline which emerges through tradition (the band supports the tradition of Greece but disagrees on the way the things have come to be through the years), the timid methods of hyper-expression, personal experiences, anti-religious movements and many other subjects which can be food for everyone's thought. The band's perspective referring to its musical style is that there can be no perspective. As autodidact, the band's three members compose music from the heart, soul and mind. There will always be influences -others overt, others less overt- hidden somewhere deep within but there's no inch of any kind of copy or anything that insults other bands/artists. So, among the recorded tunes, one can find lines coming from stoner, doom, heavy, popular, rock and grind melodies! The roots of music lay beneath the depths of the oceans... The benefactory year of 2006 found Sund excreting the first samples of their work with Sundalia (June) antedating Sundaremalia (September). These two demos featured instrumental music mainly lacking the bass sounds of Thymios. During the rest of the years, until now, the band's members are focused on other musical projects and, of course, the composition of their forthcoming full-length album in which there will be collaborations with some other people for its completeness.
