@Hey thanks for stopping by and Checking out my Artist page. I want to go ahead and take this time to introduce myself to the World. My name is Jose Luis Rodriguez Jr. but people also know me by just "JLR". To cut to the chase I'm new to this rap game. It all started when I decided to find a better way of dealing with my issue's, I knew that my excessive partying and consumption of alcohol was not the best way to cope with
Certain situations I was dealing with. I turned to god and asked for a better way of coping with some of life’s potholes, it was at that exact moment that an idea popped into my head “Why not Rap†I’ve always been a big fan of all genres of music and I have also had a competitive attitude throughout my life. I asked god that Christmas Eve a few years ago, “God I want to learn to ride a Beat†it was at that moment that my life changed and took a turn for the better. I was born on 9/16/1979 to immigrant parents It is through them that I inherited my passion for music and my relentless drive to succeed. I have had the pleasure of seeing the good side of life and the bad side of life. I am a humble person to say the least. I am a person that believes that if you surround yourself with strong people you will become a stronger person. That is why I have aligned myself with close friends and family and have invested time, work and money into my own music company. The Chop House was formed a few years back by me and my friend Buddha. At that time we where wanting to get our DJ hustle on but another associate of mine Mark G came into the picture and recorded the first freestyle at my homeboy Buddha’s studio. The next day while arriving at my friend’s studio I was blown away upon hearing it. I was immediately taken back to that Christmas Eve, Here it was right in front of me the opportunity to make good on my wish. I slowly started writing freestyles and recording I would listen to myself and critique myself, while listening to some of my Favorite artist I would eventually find my own voice. A couple of years into it I would eventually hook up with my brother Hugo Boss. He had just finished school and had earned his Degree in Recording Arts and was hungry to get on his grind and start making moves for himself. Needless to say another amazing opportunity was staring me in the eye. I was quick to recruit him and that gamble paid off. He has a strong foundation in music and I have learned so much from him. I have always felt I was put on this earth for a purpose, I don’t have an idea of what that purpose might be. I feel that when the time comes everything will eventually fall into place. Its been a hard road getting here but now that I look back I wouldn’t change anything. I want to thank everyone for accepting my requests and also those that have chose to add me to their friends list. I especially want to thank god for allowing this dream to come true.
