About Me

I am at a loss of words for what to inscribe, and yet my mind is flooded with statements and thoughts. I want to tell you about music, but that would be telling you everything, and that is the last thing I want to do. I apologize if this introduction sounds a bit sour, but I do not want to run the risk of complete and utter exposure, for exposure is a horrible thing. My name is Nick Bruketta, and I am a musician. I play guitar, piano, lap-steel, and saxophone. I also play bass, but my skills are not fasioned as well as my skills in the other instruments. I love everything about music; listening to it, playing it, writing it, and just plain living it. I’ve been writing poems for about 3 years, and began writing music shortly after I started playing the guitar about 2 years ago. I like pretty much any kind of music with value. I don't quite fancy to much of the newer stuff (There are exeptions to that.), but I'm a fan of the older stuff. I can't put it here, because the list is virtually limitless. I think my two favorite genres of music are blues, and classic rock. However, I like any kind of music that has a dreamy kind of sound. I guess I contemplate ideas of life a lot. I guess that's why I favor a lot of music that sounds like something out of a dream. If one were to venture into the paradox of my mind one would find the following: a forest surrounding an open meadow with a piano residing in the center, and cannon sitting at the edge of the meadow. I’ll elaborate on this mindset. The forest represents one of my key inspirations: nature. It consists of trees and vines, luscious fruits, wildlife, babbling brooks; any physical features that mother nature has graciously placed upon Earth. It represents the parts of nature that inspire me. The meadow in the center of the forest represents the peaceful mindset I try to maintain when writing material. It is the tranquil surrounding I need in order to concentrate. It, too, can also give me a fair share of inspiration. The piano represents music. It symbolizes everything I enjoy doing with music, and all the contributions I have made to the art. This is where I spawn all of my musical works and pieces. The cannon, though seemingly out of place in this tranquil scene, represents my initiative. It is my will to venture into the world outside of the woods, and give it my all. Whenever there is something that must be done, the cannon will blast me into the task. Now we shall move on to another part; what lies beyond the woods. This place represents you, in a sense. Rather, it represents the world, and oh, what a place to be it is. It offers inspiration, interaction, and drama. It helps to shape whom I may one day become. It is affected by the choices I make. Sometimes, throughout the coarse of my life, conflicts may arise. Things from the outer world may set fire to the woods, or ransack the meadow. However, my cannon, my initiative, still fires my will ablaze in order to vanquish all the disruptions that may intrude on my humble mind. And nothing shall ever crush my piano. My piano is my everything. Music is my everything.
