Jamie Agius

About Me

Jamie was born in Melbourne in 1963 and 9 months later moved with his mum and dad to Sydney. He grew up listening to Hank Williams, Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, Waylon and Willie and many more. His dad played acoustic guitar and always played at family functions with all the family sitting around and singing along. At 11 years old his dad brought him home a second hand guitar, taught him his first three chords and the rest is history as they say.Jamie Agius now hails from Goulburn in the NSW Southern Tablelands. Jamie offers a range of entertainment for your function as a soloist or as the newest member of the Midnight Riders.Jamie’s first love is Country Music. His extensive repertoire includes, Country, Country Rock, Ballads, Australiana, Rock’n’Roll and Rock, Jamie provides cover versions of such artists as Elvis Presley, Garth Brooks, Willie Nelson, Cold Chisel, Tim McGraw, John Cougar, Alan Jackson and many, many more. He is also working on some original compositions at present. When playing solo Jamie plays rhythm guitar and uses backing tracks to provide that full band sound, that will keep you rockin’ all night long. When playing with the Midnight Riders Jamie plays Rhythm Guitar and shares Lead Vocals with Keyboard Player Trevor Norman, on Lead Guitar is Ray Pratley, Ben Kelly on Bass Guitar and Chris Gallaher on Drums .Jamie recently travelled to Cairns with his wife Judi to record his first CD with Bill and Cazna Goodall of CaBle Trax Studios which he hopes to have out by the end of November. The album has 15 songs handpicked by Jamie and consists of Classic Country Music as well as Modern Country Music. Bill and Cazna had this to say about Jamie and having him up in Cairns to record the CD;************************************************** Note from the producers…. It is very hard to put our feelings about Jamie into such a small space. …. His talent blew us away the first time we heard him. Somewhere in the likeness of Merle Haggard, Ronnie Milsap and Randy Travis, there is Jamie Agius …. with the ability to take control of the songs made famous by the above, using his own unique style. A true professional, an absolute joy to record and produce, and a pleasure to work with on and off the stage… we are indeed very honoured and proud to be a part of this superb album. More proof that good things happen in small rooms….
