DJ ENGLEWOOD JOE SHOWSTOPPAZ IMPALAS

I grew up on the south side of chicago in the englewood area. I was introduced to the djing by listening to now defunct 102.7 fm WBMX. When i was a kid in da 80's on Saturday nite this station played stuff i wasn't hearing nowhere else. Not only did they different types of music but they mixed the songs together which is nothing now but back then it was like wow. They played House,Freestyle,DIsco,Hi-Enegry, Underground, Techno, New Wave, Italo-Disco and early Hip-Hop as well as all the regular pop songs of the day. I would stay up all nite recording these mixes and i think thats why i'm able to mix so many types of music.I've been djing ever since when and where ever i could from house partys, backyards, clubs, weddings, etc. etc. I even deejayed at 89.3 WKKC for a few years. Ya know i love chicago and its club and music scene but on the djing side i kinda missed out on some things. In the late 80's early 90's djs on the east and west coast started taking the dj thing to the next level with battles and in chicago there wasn't that much on that level, any way i kinda got left out of what they call being a Turntablist. This is the art of using the turntable as an instrument.
