My name is Joey Lavallee and I am currently a musician living in Austin Texas. As a guitarist and vocalist, I have been playing professionally for the past 15 years. I've made my living primarily as a soloist, mostly on the west coast of Florida around the Tampa Bay area. Originally from Maine, I moved to Hollywood California in 1989 to attend Musician's Institute. Some time after that I moved to the Tampa Bay area and decided to pursue music seriously. I've played in rock bands, blues bands, country bands,variety bands and various duos and trios. After learning that I could make a lot more money as a soloist, I pursued that avenue, at times playing up to 10 gigs a week at various restaurants, tiki bars, nightclubs and some dives on occasion. The bread was good, but after playing Margaritaville 1000 times, it can really get old, but hey, did I mention the bread was good?!?! Towards the end of my time living in Florida I formed the Joey Lavallee band and had the amazing opportunity of playing with some of the best and most respected musicians in that part of the state. I am still humbled by that.
I moved to Austin towards the end of 2007 for a much needed change. What an amazing music scene here. I am currently doing solo gigs around town and am always on the lookout for any good musical situations that may come up.
