The Brisbones

About Me

A C ALL T O A RMS !!!
The Brisbones have looked upon their local music scene and have found it wanting. Over the last year, we have watched in horror as bands who are friends of writers associated with various local music publications get preferential treatment while quality, fun-loving bands would get a mere footnote. We've been witness to booking agencies who can't bring in quality national acts mooching off of local performers to make their dime. In this rancorous climate, bands can feel pressured into chasing trends and losing their quality.

It is our insistence that bands can make the music they love and be successful without servicing those who would only seek to mooch off of their gains. There are a few venues, writers, and musicians that are ready and willing to support such an emergence. If you're interested in learning more or being a part of this steadfast yet abandoned method, you can contact us here. The end product of this will be quality bands gathering together to play at venues who work hand in hand with them to create fun, exciting, mind-expanding, titillating, and all-things-music-junkies-love performances.

We've made a few friends already. We hope you can be our friend as well. If not, we're content with the feeling that we love our music more than you.
D ECLARATION O F I NTENDMENT
The Brisbones have a very simple message: find something to be happy about. If you had to sum up everything that we do, that would be it. If it's a good time you're looking for, then the Brisbones are probably the band that's right for you. But don't just take our word for it:

Otis Taylor of The State
"The Brisbones’ rangy rock leads back to a lost guitar era, one where slingers like Hoheyun — the band’s lead guitarist — were worshipped beyond the pages of Rolling Stone...This kind of American classic won’t ever need a government bailout. The Brisbones play the kind of rock where guitar solos don’t exclude the rest of the band."
David Stringer of SceneSC.com
"Every time I have seen The Brisbones live, one of the main things I notice about them is that they are incredibly talented musicians who put on a great live show. From Michael Allen’s classic Americana voice to Hoheyun’s hot guitar licks through a classic amp they lay down the Rock n Roll thick for a dual telecaster set up. When it comes down to it, what get’s everyone dancing at their shows is the rhythm and the groove and Ryan and Matt will have your hips shaking and your head rockin."

Kevin Oliver of the Free Times
"Call bands like The Mooney Suzuki, The White Stripes or The Brisbones retro if you want, but what those groups implicitly understand is that real rock ‘n’ roll should actually rock, and on the latter’s amped-up, alcohol-fueled, blues-soaked songs, the pedals are pushed all the way to the floor."
