Lathams Music has existed for 4 generations, with Arch Latham tuning pianos in Newcastle since the 1930’s.
Lathams Music first opened a retail outlet in Hunter Street, Newcastle in 1949, and moved to Mayfield in 1968. In 1974 a store was opened at Garden City (now Westfield Kotara), and in 1988 at Charlestown Square. This same year the Mayfield store closed. In 1999 the Charlestown Square store was merged to Kotara, and in 2005 Lathams opened their Piano and Education Division at 2/76 Park Ave, Kotara.
