Born in San Diego, California, Matt Nollora didn't become a DJ until about a year ago, during his transition between the Army life into the civilian world. He conceived the idea of becoming a DJ during his time in the Army, when he started creating mixes of songs during parties. Matt realized that his music became a way of life in the army, keeping the party going until the next morning.
That talent didn't come overnight though for him. During his childhood, Matt picked up the trumpet at the age of 8, playing various genres of music at many venues throughout his community. His most notable venues include performances with the Disneyland Band in Disneyland, and with the USC Trojan Marching Band at the Rose Bowl in California.
He was dubbed "Motorola" while in Basic Combat Training in the Army, when one of his Drill Instructors couldn't pronounce his last name correctly. The name stuck with him, until long after his Army career when he decided to become a DJ during early 2007.
Performing at local house parties, DJ Motorola decided to make this a career not to just become a DJ, but to become an artist, honing his craft of creating his own music deriving from Progressive, Electro, and Trance.
DJ Motorola's recent gigs include his residency with Bongo Lounge Internet Radio since Spring 2008, his performance as a DJ at the "Far East Concert" with international pop stars JJ Lin, A Do, and Vivian Hsu at The Colosseum in Caesar's Palace, and as a casted musician on FOX's upcoming show, "GLEE", which premieres September 16th, 2009.
