Peter and Janemarie meet at a local open mike night and fall in love singing a Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris song. That was in 2000, since then they have been singing around Kent as a duo by the name of Sweetheart. The name was taken from the Byrds album Sweetheart of the Rodeo which featured Gram Parsons.
In 2001 they record and release their debut EP 'Calverley Park', consisting of five original songs and two Gram and Emmylou songs.
In 2005 they meet up with local guitar troubadour Del Edwards and decide to call the new project Sweetheart + 1, abbreviated to SW3.
With a new blend of vocal harmonies and twin acoustic guitars, SW3 move from country to folk to pop, maintaining their own unique style.
Melodic and lively, SW3 have established themselves as one of Tunbridge Wells 'must see' acts.
