Sons of Thunder, (Roc and Santiago) consist of ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Since 2003 these two young men have come together to bring the gospel to Birmingham and its surrounding regions. Sons of Thunder was created by these two blessed and anointed men of God, to bring hope in the person of Jesus Christ to this generation. Their uncompromising music uses dynamic, Holy Sprit filled lyrics to open the eyes and ears of believers and unbelievers alike who have never heard Jesus confessed in such a way.
In a city where churches are on almost every block and murder rates have gradually increased over the last several years, these men have decided to take the gospel to the streets.S.O.T. strives to walk with integrity, which is instrumental in their ministry. They believe that many people will read you before they ever give reading the bible a chance. The goal that they have for the upcoming years is to live a life pleasing to God and to develop others in modeling Christ likeness. They maintain a consistent prayer life and pray that there is a soul saved for every bar code that is scanned! Material gain is far from the purpose of the call that they have been charged with, but spiritual growth in the lives of others and themselves is the goal. To bring people closer to the knowledge of Jesus and the love of God is the reason Sons of Thunder was conceived.Their debut album “Relentless†is a depiction of what it takes to continue in the process of their destiny. Raphael "Roc" Lovelace is a picture of determination as his continual growth and perseverance have developed him to overcome and conquer a past filled with darkness. Roc has been determined to maintain an excellent character and preach the uncompromised gospel of Christ. Richard "Santiago" , Jr. is a picture of drive. In several years he has come into a great relationship with God through prayer, study and serving. He is also an ordained minister. He has been driven into fulfilling the call on his life through the power of God in his life. Sons of Thunder are currently evangelizing, with music being the tool to reel people of all ages into this glorious gospel.Many people have dreams to make music. The most important advice that is given by Sons of Thunder is, “to do what you do with God being the first priority and your limit is limitlessâ€. They believe God will help and groom you into your dreams so you can apply your gift to your surroundings and fulfill the scripture spoken in Proverbs 18:16, “A man's gift makes room for him and brings him before great menâ€.
